When to use a report instead of a note
Use a report when you want a record of an event: time, place, who was there, what friendlies were doing, what the other side was doing, and how it ended. Use a note when you only have a one-line opinion about a person.
How to file one
- Open Contact (or the contact tools on a profile / overlay).
- Fill the fields. Required boxes are the story of the encounter, not a novel.
- Name the people involved. Type @ to mention a handle, org, or group.
- Set dissemination the same way you do for notes.
- Save. People you shared with can open it later from the intel feed or the profile.
Where
Pyro IV, Checkmate
Hostile activity
Two Cutlasses camping the pad…
Friendly activity
We held high and extracted…
Outcome
Both ships down. Cargo recovered.
- Place and activity fields are the meat. Rank, ship, and org will attach from SENTRY when the handles are known.
- Mention people so the report also shows up on their intel tab.
Ideal contents
- Facts you saw, then opinions, labeled as such.
- Handles, not “the guy in the red armor.”
- What you want the next person on your team to do (avoid, assist, invite).
