SENTRY Overlay

The overlay is a small always-on-top window for Windows. It sits on top of Star Citizen so you can search a handle without alt-tabbing to the website. It does not modify the game.

Install

  1. Download the current Windows zip from the Overlay page.
  2. Unzip it somewhere you control (Documents is fine). There is no installer.
  3. Run SENTRY Overlay.exe. If SmartScreen appears on an unsigned build, use More info → Run anyway only if you downloaded it from this site.
  4. Set Star Citizen to borderless windowed. Exclusive fullscreen will cover the overlay.

Search and briefs

Type at least two characters and press Enter. Search defaults to citizens; flip All to include orgs. Click a result for a brief (avatar, title, orgs, links). Click an org on a citizen brief to open that org.

  1. Gear opens Options (Display, Brief, Reader, Contacts, Updates, Account).
  2. Sign in under Account if you want your private notes, tags, and reputation on briefs.

Name reader (optional)

The reader is an experiment: it captures the game window, looks for name-like text, and checks SENTRY. It will miss tiny HUD names and blur. Prefer the search box when you need a sure match. Turn it off to unload capture and OCR completely.

Ctrl+Shift+S toggles click-through so the game keeps the mouse.

Updates

The overlay checks for a new build on startup and every 15 minutes. A green banner appears only when a newer zip is published. Install and restart applies it after checking the SHA-256 from this site.
